Dear Friends,
Can you imagine being so hungry… that you eat dirt?
In Haiti, this haunting image is a devastating reality. Families facing extreme poverty and food scarcity are resorting to what are known as “dirt cookies”—a mixture of clay, salt, and oil, shaped and baked in the sun. These are not snacks. They’re a desperate attempt to quiet a growling stomach when there’s no other food in sight.
The situation in Haiti is dire.
Gangs have seized control of food ports, cutting off vital supply chains. Farmers’ fields are burned. And with nearly 80% of the population surviving on less than $2 a day, access to basic necessities has become a daily struggle.
But amid this crisis, there is hope.
Pastor Tim Halbfoerster of River of God Church recently visited Blessings of Hope to shed light on the urgent need in Haiti. His moving presentation brought into focus the unimaginable conditions—and reminded us all of the power we hold to make a difference.
At Blessings of Hope, we are responding with compassion and action. We’ve already sent 17 skids of nutritious, dehydrated soup blends to Haiti. Just one skid contains more than 19,000 meals. That’s over 323,000 meals delivered—and more are on the way. Thirteen more skids are packed and ready to ship, with several bound once again for Haiti.

These soup blends transform with only water and heat—offering real sustenance, not mud.
We invite you to watch Pastor Tim’s presentation here:
And we invite you to join us.
Your support replaces “dirt cookies” with nourishing meals. It fuels our food dehydration efforts and restores dignity to families who feel forgotten.
Together, we can be the hands and feet of hope—one meal at a time.
Will you help us send hope to Haiti?
With heartfelt thanks,
Blessings of Hope
