Dear Friends,
Sometimes, making a difference begins with something as simple as showing up. Students from the Ignited Student Ministry rolled up their sleeves and joined us in a hands-on effort to sort and bag fresh peaches and strawberries! With busy hands and willing hearts, these students helped prepare nutritious fresh fruit for people and families in need.
A part of the First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, Ignited Student Ministry is committed to helping 6th-12th grade students take their faith beyond the walls of the church and into the community through meaningful service. Packaging fruit may seem like a small job, but it plays a big role in getting nutritious food to the people and families who need it.
And the impact doesn’t stop when the last bag is packed. That fruit will continue its journey through our ministry partners and into homes and communities where it can become a meal, a blessing, and a reminder that someone cares. What began with students willing to serve can ultimately touch far more lives than they may ever see.
Paul’s words in Galatians encourage us not to become discouraged when our efforts seem small or when the results aren’t immediately visible. “Let us not grow weary while doing good.” That’s a message we all need from time to time. We may only see one small part of the story, but God sees the whole picture.
At Blessings of Hope, we are grateful for every ministry, volunteer, and partner who chooses to be part of this work. Fresh fruit becomes fresh hope when it reaches someone who needs it. And a simple afternoon of service can become part of a much bigger story; one of generosity, faith, and community.
We are grateful to the students and leaders of Ignited Student Ministry for choosing to serve alongside us. Their willingness to give their time and energy reminds us that profound change often begins with something as simple as showing up and lending a hand.
