As National Volunteer Month draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to shine a spotlight on those whose dedication and commitment make a significant impact in our community. Among these unsung heroes are Ed and Jane Shirk, a dynamic husband-and-wife team whose journey with Blessings of Hope spans over 15 years, beginning in 2006.
Their involvement with Blessings of Hope epitomizes the essence of volunteerism. Ed’s role often sees him behind the wheel, transporting truckloads of food to various locations, while Jane’s contributions extend to packing food boxes for distribution in Leola and signing and preparing greeting cards that bring warmth and joy to food recipients during the holiday season. Additionally, in the early days she oversaw volunteer coordination and leading individual prayer sessions.
