Blessings of Hope has partners who distribute food every day, every week and every month. One of our weekly partners is Akron Church of the Brethren, in Akron, Pa. They have a food outreach every Wednesday that draws people in need from the surrounding areas, with cars lining up more than 2 hours early. Today we want to tell you about Victor.
Victor is Ukrainian. He comes every week for a box of food, but he comes at 6:30 in the morning to help set up for the 10:00 distribution. He is in his mid-seventies but he can still carry 2 tables at a time—not an easy feat. Victor has embraced our country for welcoming him, and he was awarded his U.S. citizenship recently in Philadelphia. More than that, he has become involved in the community at Akron Church of the Brethren serving at the outreaches that Blessings of Hope makes possible.
Let My outcasts dwell with you, O Moab; Be a shelter to them from the face of the spoiler. For the extortioner is at an end, Devastation ceases, The oppressors are consumed out of the land.’ Isaiah 16:4 NKJV
Through Blessings of Hope you are able to touch those who are suffering from circumstances beyond your reach. Your prayers and support allow you to give aid and hope to victims of disasters, both financial and physical. Your generosity has helped Victor feel welcome and cared for in a home far from war and destruction. You did that. Thank you.
Changing lives,
Blessings of Hope
