Dear Friends,
Every piece of food has a story.
For Primo Produce, that story began decades ago with a young immigrant named George Paxos.
George arrived in the United States from Greece as a toddler alongside his mother, carrying with him the hopes of a better future. From a young age, he developed a strong work ethic that would shape the course of his life. At just 18 years old, George purchased his first restaurant in the Lehigh Valley, determined to serve only the highest-quality food to his customers.

To ensure excellence, George personally traveled to terminal markets in Philadelphia and New York during the early morning hours to hand-select fresh produce for his restaurants. His dedication to quality and service laid the foundation for what would eventually become Primo Produce.
What started as a commitment to sourcing exceptional ingredients has grown into a company making an extraordinary impact in communities across the region.

Today, Primo Produce is doing more than distributing fresh fruits and vegetables—they are helping fight hunger through their partnership with Blessings of Hope.
Because fresh produce has a limited shelf life, there are times when perfectly good fruits and vegetables cannot be sold through traditional retail channels. Without an alternative outlet, much of this food would not be used.
Instead, Primo Produce chooses a different path.
By donating excess produce to Blessings of Hope, they help ensure that nutritious food reaches people who need it most. Through our network of ministry partners, this food is distributed to families experiencing food insecurity, bringing nourishment and hope into countless homes.

But the impact doesn’t stop there.
Even produce trimmings that might otherwise be discarded can serve a meaningful purpose. Through Blessings of Hope’s food dehydration program, nutritious vegetable scraps are transformed into soup mixes that are distributed around the world. These shelf-stable meals help provide nourishment in communities facing hunger, extending the reach of every donation far beyond what many might imagine.
It’s a powerful reminder that what some may see as excess can become an opportunity to serve others.
One Primo Produce team member shared that knowing their surplus product is being “put to good use” and helping families in need is deeply meaningful. Her words reflect the heart behind this partnership—a shared commitment to stewardship, compassion, and caring for others.
At Blessings of Hope, we are incredibly grateful for partners like Primo Produce. Their generosity demonstrates how businesses can play a vital role in reducing food insecurity while creating lasting impact in the lives of people both locally and globally.
Every pallet of produce donated tells a story of provision. Every soup mix prepared through our dehydration program represents resources redeemed for a greater purpose. And every meal shared reminds us that hope often begins with something as simple as food.
