The last few weeks we have been telling you about the partners we work with, the communities we impact and the opportunities for you to be involved. Today at our fall banquet, we will be highlighting 3 of our more than 1,000 partners and in the next few weeks we will let you know about these special ministries who serve their communities well. Please take a look at this video to see the simple 1, 2, 3 steps available for those of you who want to join us in feeding the hungry, one box of food at a time.
“So which of these three do you think was a neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?” And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”
Luke 10:36-37 NKJV
In Jesus’ story of the Good Samaritan, He was showing us that anyone can find themselves in a place of need. He was also telling us that even the most unlikely person can find themselves giving aid in a time of need. In the story, the Good Samaritan showed compassion, physically assisted, and monetarily provided for the man in need. He gave aid to someone he had never seen before, and the Lord called him a neighbor. We can all show compassion when we see a need. We cannot all physically assist someone, but we can all provide monetarily to help see that a need is met. We can all be a neighbor.
