The iCare Community Event 2024 was an incredible success, and we are deeply grateful for the invaluable support and enthusiasm from everyone who participated. The event was a beautiful testament to the unwavering strength and unity within our community. With delicious food, engaging fellowship, and plenty of laughter, we all came together for the worthy cause of combating hunger. A total of 227 volunteers stepped up to fill 330 shifts, contributing over 1,300 hours of service. Together, we raised an astounding $300,000, which will go directly towards sponsoring more than 755,000 meals for those in need. Your involvement has made a significant difference, and we couldn’t have achieved this without your generosity and commitment. Thank you for being a crucial part of this remarkable journey!
This year, we made a special change to our Thursday banquet menu by introducing an Amish Wedding Meal, honoring our founders’ Amish roots. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many guests appreciating this delightful change.
Friday’s gospel concert was another highlight, featuring the powerful performances of Dan and Amanda Esh and LeRoy Stoltzfus. The concert was well-attended and deeply moving for everyone present.
Saturday brought excitement with our cornhole tournament and 5K race, both of which kept us on the edge of our seats. The atmosphere was electric, filled with friendly competition and community spirit. Check out the photos to see the racers as they cross the finish line!
One of the most thrilling parts of the event was our auction. We had an impressive array of items up for bid, including a vacation stay at Crooked Creek Hideaway, an electric fireplace, outdoor furniture, several gift cards, a brand new 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Minivan, and more. The proceeds from the auction will go a long way in supporting our mission to fight hunger.
