Blessings of Hope is a food bank that started in 2006 when Aaron Fisher felt a calling to help feed the hungry and work towards ending hunger. Our organization was legally established under the Light of Hope Ministries in 2010 and operates independently to distribute roughly 25,000 meals per day.
Our food bank operates from a warehouse where we store large quantities of food for later distribution to organizations and communities. These organizations and members of the community help get food in the hands of the people who need it the most. In 2017, our facility moved 6.5 million pounds of food out for distribution to those working towards ending hunger.
We graciously thank our supporters, donators, and partners in helping us achieve God’s work to help end hunger. In the United States alone, 1 in 4 children struggle to eat enough every day, and 1 in 6 Americans are a risk for hunger. Our programs and partnerships help fight hunger and malnutrition in communities across the country.
Our Current Programs
We have three ongoing programs at Blessings of Hope that help fight hunger and food insecurity. These programs and partnerships help us work towards ending hunger every day.
Like many food banks, we are unable to physically collect, store, and distribute food all by ourselves. We handle the collection and storage, and our ongoing programs and partnerships step in to help distribute.
Ministry Partnerships
Our ministry partners shop during our “shopping days” to gather food supplies from our warehouse, cooler, and freezer sections. This access to affordable food allows our ministry partners to work towards ending hunger in their communities.

Truckloads of Hope
Our Truckloads of Hope program enables anyone who can gather a group of 10 to 12 volunteers to help get food into the hands of those in the community who need it the most. You tell us about your food needs, and we deliver it to you and help you with setup and cleanup. We can also supply tables and gospel literature if needed.
Ready to do an outreach program in your community? Learn more about this program, or contact us at david@lappbrothers.com or call 717-824-1227 ext. 101.
Hands of Hope
We know that you may not always be able to organize a group or big outreach program, but our Hands of Hope program enables individuals to deliver boxes of food to those in need. Visit our warehouse during one of our shopping days and make a $10 donation per box. You can then hand deliver that box to someone who may be suffering from hunger and malnutrition.
Growing2Feed Capital Campaign
To continue our growth, we have our Capital Campaign, Growing2Feed, to help raise funds to purchase and remodel a 43,000-square-foot facility in Leola, Pa. This new facility would enable us to collect and store three times the amount of food we can currently hold. It would also allow us to store food dehydration equipment to preserve foods that would have otherwise been thrown away.
Since we started tracking in 2011, we’ve distributed over 32 million meals and have blessed hundreds of thousands of families in need. We estimate that this expansion will empower us to distribute over 100 million meals (an average of one meal every 2.3 seconds) to low-income families in the first 10 years of operation.
Blessings of Hope is growing, and we need your help! Your financial support would enable us to take the next step in building a state-of-the-art facility that will glorify God and spread hope to families across our community and around the world! How You Can Get Involved in Ending Hunger
As an individual, you can volunteer your time with Blessings of Hope or make a donation to our cause. As a business, you can help with one of our outreach programs or start a food rescue initiative.
Individual: Volunteer and Donate
Volunteering and donating are the two easiest ways you can help with ending hunger in your community. At Blessings of Hope, we are always looking for volunteers to help with our shopping days, packing boxes for delivery, driving trucks (CDL and non-CDL), outreach programs, and general warehouse duties. You can sign up on our volunteer page.
You can also donate at any time and for any amount on our online donation page.
Companies: Food Rescue Initiatives
If you are a company that deals with food products and you often have excess that gets thrown away, we would be happy to help redistribute that food to those who need it the most. Food rescue keeps food out of landfills and enables communities everywhere to work together toward ending hunger. Reach out to us today to donate food or other items that would help with our mission of ending hunger!
